NYC Dining Warning | Can’t Even Cook a Medium-Rare Steak Properly? 🥩
Last weekend, I visited 15 East @ Tocqueville. The experience wasn’t as good as I had hoped—disappointment took the lead. I chose the three-course menu. 🍽️ The restaurant isn’t very big, and the seating arrangement is quite cramped, which I was very unhappy about. 🚫 For the pre-meal, they served bread and foie gras biscuits. The foie gras biscuits were really fishy. 🐟 🐟 For the appetizer, I chose roasted foie gras. The figs that came with it were actually tastier than the foie gras itself... The foie gras was extremely greasy and fishy, the accompanying bread was dry, and the sauce did nothing to cut through the richness. 🍖 For the main course, I went with the Thai-flavored lobster risotto. The taste was quite unique—it was my first time trying it, but it wasn’t particularly impressive. 🦞 @Vejoo ordered the wagyu strip steak, requesting it medium-rare, but it arrived well-done... They did remake it for us, and the attitude was satisfactory, but the taste was pretty average. 🥩 I also added duck breast, which was equally unremarkable, and surprisingly, it came with the same sauce and sides as the foie gras appetizer. 🦆 🐟 The dessert never came; the waiter just handed us the bill directly. I really can’t understand this... The best part of the meal was actually the dessert I didn’t get to try—the chocolate soufflé. 🍰 At over $200 per person, I have to say there are way too many better options at this price point... #NewYork 🌃🌟
