NYC East Village | Hotspot Review: Mountain House Sichuan Cuisine 🌶️
📍 Mountain House 23 St Marks Pl, New York, NY 10003 Tried walking in twice before — was quoted an hour wait both times 😮💨 — but finally made it thanks to a reservation! 📞 This popular Sichuan restaurant has locations in Times Square and Flushing too, with prices around $50 per person. Here’s what we ordered: 🌶️ Xiaomijiao Loving Little Rooster ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A signature stir-fried chicken dish. We went for mild spice — tender meat, balanced heat, definitely a win! 🥒 Drying Meat Over the Rack ⭐⭐⭐ Visually striking (great for photos!), but flavor-wise? Pretty standard. An Instagram star, but not a must-order for taste. 🍄 Beef & Porcini Mushroom Rice ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My favorite! Loaded with savory beef and fragrant mushrooms — so satisfying and full of umami. 🥬 Stir-fried Water Spinach ⭐⭐⭐ Simple, fresh, and well-cooked — a reliable veggie side. 🍑 Mountain Peach Rice Drink ⭐⭐ Way too sweet for my taste — wouldn’t recommend unless you have a serious sweet tooth. A solid spot for flavorful Sichuan eats — just remember to book ahead or prepare to wait! 👫🔥 #NYCSichuanFood #MountainHouseNYC #EastVillageEats #SpicyLovers #NYURestaurants
