NYC Food Diary 🍽️ | Hits & Misses in the City

Spent three days eating around New York, and surprisingly, my favorite meal might just have been at the Natural History Museum! 🦖 Here’s a quick recap of the good, the okay, and the… let’s not go back. The Restaurant at Gilder 🇺🇸 Service was lovely, but the coffee? Not so much. My espresso was too acidic ☕️, and even the server agreed their previous beans were better. Only 20%+ tip options — a bit steep, but it was my one proper meal of the day, so I let it slide. Kung Fu Kitchen 🇨🇳 Stumbled upon this spot near where I stayed. The door said "Michelin-recommended" — and it delivered! Had the hand-sliced noodles and shepherd’s purse dumplings 🥟 — both authentic and comforting. The staff was super sweet and even checked on me when I got emotional (long story 😢). Meal came to ~$58 with 18% tip. Le Rivage 🇫🇷 Cozy French bistro with warm service. The Beef Bourguignon with mashed potatoes was rich and satisfying 🍷, and the Caesar salad came with a surprise — a warm, buttery grilled bread base that totally made it! 🥖 Meal + tip: ~$86. Hilton Times Square Breakfast 🏨 Let’s just say… hotel breakfast in the U.S. continues to disappoint. Maybe it’s the hotel tier, but it made me appreciate how well we eat back home! Bill’s Burger 🍔 My first meal in NYC — and a regret. My mom’s fried chicken burger was drenched in something sour, and the pickles tasted off. My basic burger was just… okay. Not recommended if you value your taste buds. Felice 🇮🇹 After a walk in Central Park, this Italian spot hit the spot. A simple pasta and salad, but that espresso? Life-giving ☕️! Service was great, though the bill with 18% tip came to $90+. NYC’s food scene has its highs and lows — but that’s the fun of exploring! #NYCEats #NYCFoodDiary #NYCRestaurants #HitsAndMisses
