NYCπ Happiness is finding a warm izakaya on a cool autumn evening.
After a draining workday, I stumbled upon a small, inviting izakaya and luckily grabbed the last unreserved seat β a simple but sweet autumn moment. π€ π A hot bowl of ramen was the perfect comfort. The broth had a light black garlic aroma, rich without being heavy. The chashu was thinly sliced and surprisingly generous β we finished the bowl in minutes. π The highlight was the yakisoba β an omelette-wrapped noodle dish topped with bonito flakes and nori. Each bite brought together fluffy egg, savory bacon, crunchy cabbage, and soba noodles in a savory-sweet sauce. Pure happiness! π³ π₯ We also loved the hijiki salad β a refreshing mix of arugula and seaweed with sesame dressing. So good, I might try making it at home. Other orders included: π’ Yakitori Set A β chicken thigh (juicy), wing (a bit dry), and knee (somewhere in between). π Unagi don β grilled eel over rice with tamagoyaki, less sweet than usual, served with miso soup. π€ Tempura β freshly fried but with a thick, slightly greasy batter. Next time, Iβd order the ramen, yakisoba, and hijiki salad again. Hungry for more NYC food adventures?
