๐ NYC Hiking | Glenville Woods Park Preserve ๐ณ
Took my parents to this hidden gem near Tarrytown last weekend - so underrated it doesn't even show up on maps properly! Had to use Rockefeller State Park Preserve as the location marker ๐ This charming little hill is nestled right in a suburban neighborhood - not remote at all (no getting lost here!) but some trails feel so lush you'd think you stepped into Jurassic Park! ๐ฆ Perfect timing after the rain - spotted dozens of mushrooms popping up everywhere! ๐ Did the full loop at a leisurely pace with photo stops in about 2.5 hours - super easy hike with gentle slopes. Navigation tip: Search "Glenville Woods Park Preserve" - it'll take you right to the tiny parking lot (only 3 spots but we were the only ones there!). Overflow parking is just one street over. โ ๏ธ Bug alert! Bring mosquito repellent - the little critters were out in force. ๐ฆ Family-friendly spot - we saw a family with toddlers happily crawling in the grass. Technically no dogs allowed, but some hikers say they've brought theirs without issues (your call though!). Perfect for a quick nature escape without leaving Westchester County! The trails are well-maintained but still feel wonderfully wild. Saw some beautiful birds and even a deer! ๐ฆ #Hiking #Nature #LocalHikes #NYCGetaway #NYCHiking #NYCTrails #WeekendInNY #NYCLiving #HikingNearNYC #PeakEveryWeek
