NYC Ktown — Eating Like the Koreans Do! 🇰🇷✨

In a previous post, I mentioned quietly following a student group from Gwangju, Korea, into this restaurant—and wow, the Korean-language vibe was strong! The Korean auntie who served us was super warm and even shared her love for crispy rice crust. 💛 💗 We started with 7 kinds of banchan—the fish cake, pickled radish, and kimchi were especially good. The kimchi was light, fresh, and not too funky—I finished two plates just with the meat! 👉 Maewun Galbijim (Braised Beef Short Ribs) (Matata's Pick!) Ever since trying braised ribs at Daeho, I’ve been hooked. These were fall-off-the-bone tender, richly seasoned, and the server kindly cut the meat off the bone for us. Pour that sauce over rice—heaven! 🍖🍚 👉 Sundubu Jjigae (Spicy Soft Tofu Stew) A warm, comforting seafood tofu stew—just the right spice level, clean and savory. Perfect solo portion! 🍲🌶️ 👉 Haemul Pajeon (Seafood Scallion Pancake) We ordered the large—it was huge! Crispy and loaded with big chunks of seafood, though I found the flavor a bit tangy for my taste. 🦐🥞 📍 The Kunjip 32 W 32nd St, New York, NY 💵 ~$50 per person #NYCEats #Ktown #KoreanFood #ComfortFood #BanchanLove #NYCFoodie #MatataEats #FollowTheLocals #NYCDining #SeoulVibes #HeartyMeals #FoodieWin
