NYC Restaurant Week | Temple Court, a Century-Old Retro Restaurant 🕰️

As a very photogenic restaurant, the food tastes great 👍 As a choice for New York Restaurant Week, it’s very filling 🥰 $60 for 3 courses (appetizer, main course, dessert) 🍽️ Built in 1884, it features a iconic pyramid-shaped skylight. The first floor houses a restaurant and bar, with the hotel rooms forming a courtyard above. You can dine on the second floor, but other floors require a hotel key card 🏨 1️⃣ Bread before the meal 🍞 The difference from airplane bread is that it doesn’t come in a plastic wrapper…🛩️ 2️⃣ Appetizer - Chestnut Agnolotti (+$5) 🍄 Seasoned with black truffle, Brussels sprouts, and sage, this Italian cheese ravioli is delightful. I love that it has chestnuts inside. The overall integration is very good, and it’s very dense and suitable for Chinese palates. 🇮🇹 3️⃣ Main Course 🍗 Diver Scallops (+$10) 🦪 Two large scallops are cooked to perfection, seasoned with five-spice powder, Jerusalem artichokes, salsify, and black truffle vinaigrette. Steak (+$15) 🥩 Served with romesco sauce, sweet peppers, and Bordeaux wine, it strangely has a feeling like doubanjiang (broad bean chili paste) and laoganma (a famous Chinese chili sauce). 🥃 4️⃣ Dessert 🍰 Not recommended… The sorbet (pomelo and lemon) is incredibly sour and bitter. The Passionfruit Semifreddo is very dense but can be cloying. Very sincere, the portions are huge. 🤯 📷 Photography 📸 Stained glass, transparent glass, Turkish carpets, bronze oil lamps, retro bookshelves, a retro elevator, and vintage sofas on the lower level. If you want to shoot in a retro style, this place has it all! 🤩 #AtmosphericRestaurant #NewYorkRestaurantWeek #NewYorkFood #RetroRestaurant #RetroPhotography #HotelPhotography #ChurchRestaurant #NewYorkLife
