NYC Sichuan
Cold noodles are a classic Sichuan street food—in summer, you could find stalls everywhere serving tasty bowls for just a few bucks. I hadn’t had a proper version since coming to the U.S., until I tried this Sichuan spot near Bryant Park. 🍴 Szechuan Gourmet 📍 21 W 39th St, New York, NY 10018 🍜 Cold Buckwheat Noodles with Shredded Chicken – What drew me in! It’s not exactly like Sichuan’s street version—more peanut sauce, milder spice—but still really good. Chewy noodles in a slightly sweet, savory sauce with fragrant chili oil—tastes like spring/summer in a bowl. 🐟 Fish Fillets with Fresh Mushrooms – Loaded with mushrooms for umami, thick fish slices, and a hint of pickled pepper for depth without too much heat. 🍲 Bamboo Shoot & Beef Brisket Pot – Hearty chunks of tender bamboo shoots and beef brisket/tendon—so satisfying with rice. My first time having fresh bamboo shoots in the U.S.! 😌 🥢 Couple’s Beef Slices (Fuqi Feipian) – Packed with beef, tripe, and tendon in spicy chili oil—looks as good as it tastes. What I loved: the meal felt flavorful but not heavy or overly greasy. A great spot to try if you’re near Bryant Park! #Foodie #FoodLife #NYC #NYCFood #MidtownEats #SichuanCuisine #SichuanFood #NYCExploration #NYCStudent #ColdNoodles #ComfortFood #NYCRestaurants #BryantParkEats #NYCEats
