NYC Solo Trip Guide for First-Time Female Travelers! ✈️🗽

As an exchange student on fall break, I took my first solo trip to NYC—and it went smoothly! Here’s my guide for a safe, budget-friendly experience (~$2000 for lodging, food & transport). 🛫 Transport Flight: RDU ↔ NYC, booked on Ctrip (~¥1820). E-check-in + digital boarding passes are super convenient. Airport transfer: Used a Chinese ride-hailing service. Safe, cash-only, no tips required. NYC Subway: Safer than expected! Tap with credit card/Apple Pay. No harassment encountered—just keep to yourself. 🏨 Accommodation Most hotels require guests to be 21+. Try searching “hotels for 18 in NY” if you’re underage. I stayed at Pestana CR7 Times Square (no resort fee), but CitizenM is more recommended: 18+ friendly, smart check-in, great views, cozy rooms. 🛍️ Shopping Fifth Ave > Soho for luxury brands. Tiffany’s staff were student-friendly. Silver isn’t worth it; gold small smile prices are similar to China but with better service. Explore small boutiques for unique finds. 🍽️ Food All spots are tagged in my photos—no regrets! If unsure, head to Ktown—always delicious. 🌆 Attractions Top of the Rock + Times Square (stay alert at night) Columbia University (main campus requires booking) Just wander! NYC is perfect for city walks. #StudyAbroadTravel #NYC #SoloTravel #USA #TravelGuide #NYCTips #SafeTravel #FirstTimeInNYC #TravelSolo #BudgetTravel
