Off to Brussels to See Magritte

I’d be upset if I didn’t make a trip to Belgium in November. Usually, I’d go to Antwerp for a couple of days to visit exhibitions, shop for clothes, and eat. But without RAF, I’m just not feeling the urge to go. Instead, I went to Brussels for some stock sales at boutique stores. But the stuff was pretty average, and so were the prices… (I went to Stijl, but it was basically just their online sale items brought into the store, with the same discounts as online…) However, I scored a Walter fall 23/24 scarf. Blue + brown + black is so much easier to match than the other colors like red, pink, yellow, green. Who understands!!🥺 Finally, a color I can pull off. And I highly recommend the Magritte Museum! Three floors filled with surrealism!!! If you love surrealism, don’t miss it🥺 Get your fill in one visit. The fun starts in the elevator going up, with a painting of a woman’s body split into several parts from toe to head. As the elevator ascends, you see each piece appear one after another, like a dream sequence😭 Most of the works are by Magritte and are truly fascinating. Watching the evolution of the style and elements, the colors… Each piece is so smooth and clean! The hidden ideas might be hard to grasp, but that’s okay—the mystery only adds to the fond memories (It’s all in French, which is really hard to understand. There might be an English audio tour, but it’s a hassle to hold that machine, so I bought a book to study at home.) #Brussels
