One-Day Trip to Kecskemét
At the last minute, I hopped on the early morning train to Kecskemét 🚂. This city is truly magical—the downtown area is surrounded by churches, big and small ⛪. I visited two of them: The first one was repurposed in the 1940s and now serves as an office building + exhibition hall 🏢. The staff told me the second floor displays replicas of artworks from around the world, and it’s free to visit! 🎨 The second church was… unexpected. At first glance, it looked more like a parliament hall—so modern that no one would guess it was a church! 😲 Luckily, the pastor was there and explained that the design was meant to make worshippers feel "at home." He even showed us the model of a new church they’re planning to build—which looks just like an apartment complex! 🏘️ Before leaving, the pastor kindly gifted me a book he wrote 📖, exploring Hungary’s church culture. Flipping through it, I could only admire the pictures—the text was completely incomprehensible to me. Ah, the struggles of being illiterate in Hungarian... 😅 #Hungary #Kecskemét #Kecskemet #Church #TravelDiaries ✨
