One of Belgium’s must-visit spots
🌟Inside is so exquisite, but no phones or cameras allowed, all need to be 🔒 in lockers, only your 👁 can enter. The Horta Museum is actually the workshop and residence of Horta, built between 1898 and 1901. It’s a representative of the Art Nouveau movement, preserving a century’s worth of details, ironwork, mosaics, and stained glass windows. 🌟Many scenes from “The Danish Girl” with Eddie Redmayne were filmed here. The movie is set in Paris, but the actual filming took place here. 🌟Visitors are given a cross-sectional axonometric drawing to better understand the complex interior spaces. I visited on a chilly early winter day in Brussels, with a drizzle of rain outside. Inside, however, it was warm, with dim but not dim lighting illuminating the rooms, warming the light wood-colored tables and chairs and the mosaic floors, and the flower-path-like curves of the ironwork, reflecting warm light. 🌟Admission: 12 euros for adults, 6 euros for students, museumpass is accepted (not valid for several other Horta houses) Opening hours: Closed on Mondays, Tuesday to Friday from 14:00 to 17:30, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 17:30, last entry at 16:45 Important tips: Remember to book in advance, as the place is small and has a daily limit. #CityIsABook #Movie #Belgium #Brussels #ArtNouveau #EddieRedmayne #TheDanishGirl
