One of the Best Museums in Lisbon, and it's Free 🥳

Yes! It's free after 2 PM every Sunday afternoon ❗️ 🏛️ Calouste Gulbenkian Museum 🏺 The museum of the oil tycoon Gulbenkian's private collection, with over 6000 pieces in total and about 1000 pieces on display, spanning from the 11th century to the mid-20th century. It includes Egyptian art, Greek and Roman art, Mesopotamia, Armenian, as well as Western art, sculptures, books, paintings, jewelry, and of course, our country's porcelain and sculptures. 🏺 A few impressive collections: ✨ A double-layered hollow high-foot blue and white porcelain cup from our Yuan Dynasty, with exquisite bamboo patterns carved around the cup. ✨ The latest exhibition features a portrait of King Philip IV of Spain, created by one of the greatest painters of 17th-century Spain, Velazquez. Uniquely, the king in the painting is dressed in military attire, which is very luxurious and exquisite, and worth observing in detail. ✨ The Dragonfly Woman Brooch is one of the most famous works of the French jewelry master Lalique, made from a variety of precious materials such as gold, enamel, ivory, and diamonds. The half-human, half-beast female figure has a mysterious sensuality and is full of indescribable vitality. 🏺 In addition, there are many valuable sculptures and paintings. I only recognize masters like Rembrandt, Monet, and Rodin. I have to say that these gentlemen have really superb aesthetics! 💁🏻‍♀️ Visiting Tips: 📝 The visit duration is about two hours. It's suitable to arrive a bit after 2 PM on Sundays. After the visit, you can also stroll around the souvenir shop and the back garden. The museum's back garden is also one of the highlights of the entire exhibition area, and there is a café in the park, so it's very convenient to eat and drink. 📝 Special attention 👉 No water is allowed in the museum! The ticket inspectors will check each bag, and neither bottled water nor thermos cups are allowed. Even the water in a baby's bottle is not allowed 🙂, so remember not to bring water to avoid waste. #MyEuropeanLife #EuropeanRelaxation #Portugal #Exhibition #Museum #Lisbon
