One World Trade Center in New York
One World Trade Center (1 World Trade Center) π’π Located in Lower Manhattan, New York, USA, it is bordered by Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south, West Street to the west, and the World Trade Center Performing Arts Center to the east. To its south is the 9/11 National Memorial Museum (the former World Trade Center Twin Towers). Originally named the Freedom Tower, it is a super high-rise building that integrates office space and sightseeing. π’π It covers an area of 0.7 hectares, has a construction area of 3.25 million square meters, and a total height of 541 meters (including the 124-meter antenna, 1,776 feet), symbolizing the year 1776 when the United States published the Declaration of Independence and declared independence from British rule. The beacon light on the tower's tip echoes with the Statue of Liberty across the river. π’π The building has 104 floors above ground and 5 floors underground. It is the tallest building in the United States, the Americas, and the Western Hemisphere, with a construction cost of 3.2 billion US dollars. π The base of the building is a square pedestal that rises continuously, with chamfered edges forming eight inverted isosceles triangles on the facade, creating a changing octagonal plane. At the top, it becomes a square plane, rotated 45 degrees from the base. The facade is made of glass curtain walls. π’π The top features a cable-supported circular observation deck, with the observation deck at a height of 415 meters. The design is by the American architectural firm SOM. π #OneWorldTradeCenter #NewYork #SOM ππ
