Tucked away in a beautifully preserved 1910 building in downtown San Jose, this isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a time capsule. Run by two retired techies with a passion for music, food, and storytelling, Orchestria Palm Court offers a dining experience like no other. Open only on Friday and Saturday nights, it feels like a well-kept secret waiting to be discovered. We almost didn’t make it—until we called ahead and were moved by their warmth and flexibility. Though they don’t have a patio, they welcomed our corgi with open arms 🐾❤️ as long as he could relax under the table. That kindness set the tone for the entire evening. Walking inside is like stepping into an enchanted past: self-playing pianos and violins from over a century ago fill the air with timeless melodies. Shelves are lined with original music rolls, some more than 100 years old, which the instruments magically bring to life throughout your meal. The atmosphere is elevated by Art Nouveau tapestries and soft lighting—it’s romantic, whimsical, and deeply nostalgic. You order at the counter, but the food is anything than casual. Thoughtfully prepared Italian homestyle dishes stole our hearts. I ordered the Pesto Gnocchi—packed with fresh vegetables and flavor, and yes, they even offer lactose-free ice cream! 🍦❤️ What made the night truly special was sharing it with our pup. Seeing him curled contentedly beneath the table as antique instruments played around us is a memory we’ll always treasure. Before leaving, we used the restored early-20th-century telephone near the entrance—modified by the owners to work for free—to call a friend and tell them about this magical place.
