Osaka Castle 🏰🌸

🌺🌿 Osaka Castle, also known as Ōsaka-jō, was the residence of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and the center of the Toyotomi regime during the Azuchi-Momoyama period, 🌺🌿 a time of unification in Japan, and was referred to as "Taikō-han's Castle". After Tokugawa Ieyasu eliminated the Toyotomi clan through two battles of Osaka (Winter Campaign and Summer Campaign), 🌺🌿 the original Osaka Castle, constructed by Hideyoshi from 1583 to 1598, no longer exists. The remnants of Osaka Castle visible above ground today are those rebuilt by Tokugawa Hidetada between 1620 and 1629, 🌺🌿 essentially a new Osaka Castle (Tokugawa Osaka Castle). 🌺🌿 🌺🌿 #Osaka 🍃 #OsakaCastle 🏰
