Osaka Chronicles: Children's Book Forest Library š³
Thirteen years ago, my visit to Osaka was cut short by the Great East Japan Earthquake and nuclear crisis. šØ We had to evacuate back to our home country like refugees. This time, I finally had the chance to take a leisurely city walk. š¶āāļø š³I paid a thoughtful visit to a children's book library near the city hall. It has been open to the public for free since 2020 and was designed by the renowned Osaka-born architect Tadao Ando. š The experience was both healing and touching. š The picture books and books inside are distributed according to twelve thematic categories. š There are popular categories such as nature, animals, sports, and art, as well as those that guide children to think about the future, explore life and careers, discuss serious social issues, and especially to understand life and death. #Osaka š#OsakaChronicles š #ChildrensBookForestLibrary š³ #TadaoAndo šØ
