Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts 🌿
The exhibit labels are primarily in Japanese, so even guessing what they say can be a bit of a challenge. 🌇 🌊🎢 There are four exhibition halls in total, and you need to have your ticket checked for each one. 🌺🌇However, you can re-enter the halls multiple times on the same day. 🎫 In Figure 1, there's a bronze figure with gold and silver plating from the Eastern Han Dynasty in China. 🌊🎢 I've never seen anything like it before. It's one of the museum's key collections and was placed at the end of the fourth hall as the grand finale. 🌺🌇 The actual size was much smaller than I had imagined. 🌿 The Buddhist sculptures mainly come from the Yungang Grottoes (Datong, Shanxi Province), Longmen Grottoes (Luoyang, Henan Province), and Tianlongshan Grottoes (Taiyuan, Shanxi Province). 🌊🎢 While marveling at their exquisite craftsmanship, I also felt a mix of emotions. Seeing the heads of the Buddha statues that are missing in China here was quite poignant. 🌿 🌺🌇 Most of the exhibits can be photographed. 📷 If you happen to be in Osaka, I highly recommend paying a visit. 🌿 🌊🎢 Next month, there will be an exhibition of Japanese national treasures (April 26 - June 15, 2025, admission 2400 yen), which is definitely worth looking forward to. #Osaka 🌿
