Osaka Museum of History Sword Exhibition Review (1) 🌿
This morning, I visited the special exhibition "A Thousand Years of Japanese Swords" at the Osaka Museum of History. 🌟🌸 The adult ticket cost 1500 yen. 🍃Most of the exhibits were swords crafted by modern artisans, with only about a dozen from before the Edo period. Photography was not allowed in the first three galleries, but it was permitted in the fourth gallery featuring modern swordsmiths. I took the exhibition very seriously and even took detailed notes (see page 2). 📝 🌟🌸 The most impressive piece was a protective sword made by a swordsmith named Kenta Sōkon for his daughter. 🍃The accompanying description from the swordsmith was very touching. When considering what kind of sword to create, the birth of his daughter inspired him. 🌟🌸 The father imbued his wishes for his daughter's healthy growth into the blade's pattern and even engraved plum blossom designs on the sword. 🍃Now, his daughter is in the third grade of elementary school, and every time he takes out this short sword, he is reminded of her growth. He hopes that when his daughter looks at this sword in the future, she will also think of her father. 🌸 🌟🌸 #Osaka 🏛️
