π Oslo Long Weekend
Today, we visited the Holmenkollen Ski Museum outside the city and the River Walk (Oslo Guidebereau) in the city center. The Ski Museum is built at the base of the ski jump, and from the top of the jump, you can see the Oslo fjord and the mountain scenery in the background, offering a very expansive view. In the afternoon, the River Walk in the city is only available on Sundays (other times it's a city walk). Perhaps because Google Maps indicated that their office is closed on Sundays, only two of us were in the group. We spent two hours walking along the Akerselva River upstream, and we were lucky to see the spectacular Old Town waterfall during the rainy season. The guide also explained the history of the industries along the riverbank: from animal husbandry to industrialization with factories. From capitalists exploiting workers to male workers protesting for better labor protections, then to female workers striking for equal labor rights, even influencing the workers' movement in the UK; and in recent years, the area has transformed into art and vocational universities due to river pollution control. This River Walk is probably the most interesting item in the 3-day Oslo pass (after all, there are also artworks of little people and big white geese). #SkiJump #Akerselva #NorwegianForest #Elk #Swan
