Pappy‘s Smokehouse Visit Notes 🍖

So lucky today—I found out that the famous local barbecue joint Pappy‘s Smokehouse is right next to the hotel! Since it’s so close, of course I had to go give it a try~ 😊 We arrived just half an hour before closing, only to find that the beef brisket, burnt ends, and turkey were already sold out… Looks like everyone really loves this place! 😅 In the end, we ordered pork ribs and chicken instead. The meat was okay—the smoky flavor was really strong, and with one bite you could taste the rich charcoal aroma~ 🔥 But maybe because it was takeout, the meat felt a bit dry and not as tender as I’d imagined. On the other hand, the pickles and coleslaw were a pleasant surprise! 😋 Their pickles were especially refreshing and helped cut through the richness, and the coleslaw had a slightly sweeter taste than other places—totally my thing~ One bite of meat, one bite of slaw—a perfect match! The two of us spent just over $40 in total. In these times of rising prices, that’s really quite reasonable 👏 Even though we missed out on the most wanted items, the overall experience was still pretty good.
