Paris | Let’s Go to the Museum and Do Some Crafts 🤗
It seems I found out about the craft workshop at the Eugène Delacroix Museum through an ad on Instagram. I chose one that fit my schedule and interest (not just for kids 😅) and made a phone call to book it. So on Saturday, I happily participated in the Théâtre en Boîte atelier. The museum is located on Rue de Furstemberg in the 6th arrondissement, next to the Boulevard Saint-Germain, and it was the final residence of the painter Delacroix before he passed away. The painter needed to take charge of the painting decorations for the Saint-Sulpice Church, so he moved to this residence near the church (the painter rented the house, by the way). The workshop requires paying the museum entrance fee plus an additional 5 euros, totaling 2 hours. Théâtre en Boîte, the theater in a box 🎭 Ten minutes before the activity started, the museum staff took everyone on a tour and explained two of Delacroix’s paintings that the workshop would involve: one depicting a classic scene from “Hamlet,” and the other a lion staring fiercely ahead 🦁️ The workshop took place in the museum’s garden, no air conditioning, but lots of feel 😃 The teacher gave a brief introduction to the theme and techniques, showed two finished products, and then let everyone choose between Hamlet or the lion to start creating. The creative process involved coloring, cutting, and pasting, with the final piece meant to represent the perspective of different objects in the scene. Anyway, it’s a highly recommended activity! Currently, there are no new workshop notifications on the official website after the heritage day next weekend. Looking forward to more activities in the future. #Paris #ParisLife #ParisTravel #Art #DIY #ArtWorkshop #Crafts #Museum #ArtGallery #Painting #RecordLife #WeekendPlans
