🍷 Paris | Savoring French Cuisine by the Eiffel Tower

✨ Paris is home to a plethora of Michelin-starred restaurants, and after much deliberation, I chose Le Violon d'Ingres for dinner. The restaurant operates on a reservation system with no dress code. Located near the Eiffel Tower, it boasts a fantastic ambiance, and the waitstaff are polite and elegant. A minor drawback was that it was too busy on a Friday night, leading to somewhat hasty explanations of each dish. ✨ We were gifted bread with butter and a small cup of pudding before the meal. Unfortunately, I can't recall what the pudding was made of, but it had a tangy, sweet, and slightly spicy flavor that was very appetizing. Appetizers ✨ Foie Gras 35€ The menu translates to "Foie Gras Meat Pie." It resembles a slice of toast, with a crispy pastry ring, a light pink duck or goose meat jelly in the middle, and a piece of foie gras at the center. Served with plum sauce, the foie gras has a delicate and smooth texture. ✨ Shrimp Ravioli 40€ Tasting like shrimp wontons, this appetizer was delicious, with a thick and savory sauce, providing a satisfying mouthfeel. Main Courses ✨ Braised Veal Breast in Yellow Wine Sauce 60€ The veal breast is crispy on the outside, with a sweet and rich sauce. Served with spinach and mushrooms, and topped with small crispy garnishes. The meat is tender, with juices flowing out when cut. The rich fat, sweet sauce, and soft beef all come together, which can become a bit greasy after a few bites, so the spinach helps to balance it out. ✨ Roasted Pigeon with Sauce 55€ It looks like a Wellington steak, with a golden crust wrapping the pigeon, revealing the pigeon leg when cut in half. The crust is crispy, and the pigeon meat inside is tender and flavorful. Desserts ✨ Napoleon Cake 13€ The mille-feuille has a vanilla cream filling, topped with a layer of caramel, which is excellent. The pastry is so crisp that it crumbles with a gentle bite, making this dessert both beautiful and delicious. ✨ Passion Fruit Soufflé 15€ The soufflé is incredibly fluffy, and when you tap the surface with a spoon, the sugar trembles and falls. It tastes like eating a cloud with a custard flavor, with the tangy and granular passion fruit in the middle. It's also served with a passion fruit sorbet, a small green ball in a half passion fruit shell, which is delicate and exquisite. ✨ We were also gifted freshly baked Madeleines, canelés, and mini chocolate cookies. Overall, the dining experience was fantastic, but unfortunately, I had already dined at Abri before this. A significant difference is that Le Violon d'Ingres offers classic old-school French cuisine, where you can imagine the taste just by looking at the dishes, and the flavor remains consistent throughout, which can be a bit monotonous. Abri, on the other hand, offers a variety of flavors with each bite, increasing the anticipation for the next surprise. Classic French cuisine and creative dining are different, and I prefer creative cuisine.
