Paris – The Blooming Beauty at the YSL Museum 🌸

**Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris** Opens at 11:00 AM Admission: 10 euros If you buy tickets on-site, be prepared to wait until those with pre-booked tickets have entered. This place was once the workspace of Monsieur YSL and the headquarters of the Yves Saint Laurent Haute Couture House. YSL worked here for 30 years. When he first arrived in Paris, Vogue introduced him to Dior. After Monsieur Dior passed away, YSL became the creative director of Dior at just 21 years old and launched his own fashion house in 1961. 👔 Upon entering, the first floor to the left showcases a brief introduction to YSL's life, along with some design sketches, color palettes, and fabric samples. The top floor is YSL's private studio, meticulously recreated with bookshelves, tools, fabric samples, and drawers of buttons and other accessories. His bookshelf includes a book on Chinese dress history, and he indeed drew inspiration from Chinese styles in some of his designs. Even a master needs to do research! 📚 On the second floor, there's a small cinema screening a 9-minute documentary that reviews YSL's fashion shows. Here, you can see his iconic collections, including the Mondrian dress (1965), Le Smoking (1966), Pop Art dress (1966), jumpsuits, and safari jackets (1968). Currently, until May 4th, the main exhibition is "The Flowers of Yves Saint Laurent." Influenced by Monsieur Dior, YSL had a deep appreciation for flowers and incorporated floral elements into his designs, inspired by Dior's floral craftsmanship. 🌹 The exhibition features videos from the 1980s to the present, showcasing YSL's intricate French embroidery on haute couture dresses, with flowers as a recurring motif. The details are stunningly beautiful and complex. In this modest exhibition space, you can admire many classic elements of fashion history. It's a reminder of the exquisite silhouettes, craftsmanship, and details that were created by the masters and how much of today's fashion design is still influenced by the past. #ParisianLife #ParisianMuseums #ParisTravel #MuseumVisits
