Paris 🇫🇷 Every Dish Is Super Impressive at JJ Beaumarchais
I absolutely have to share this today! Even after coming to Paris multiple times, I was still blown away by JJ Beaumarchais. It's one of my favorite bistros for its great value and delicious food. If I had to sum it up in one sentence, I'd say it's all about creativity and layers of flavor. 🫶🏻 This place has a 4.9-star rating on Google. It offers modern French set menus for dinner at just 39/59 euros for 4-5 courses. Lunch even has more affordable options. Compared to the UK, it's incredibly good value for money. The chef adjusts the menu based on seasonal ingredients and incorporates elements from other cuisines. For example, our menu this time had flavors from Southeast Asia and Japan. The restaurant is quite small, with only about 10 tables. Although the food aims for Michelin standards in taste and quality, the atmosphere and service are laid-back bistro style. It's very chill and perfect for enjoying a glass of wine. 🍷 🌟 Must-Try Dishes 🦢 Foie Gras with Seasonal Vegetables: As a fan of foie gras, I was already predisposed to love this dish. But even my dining companion, who usually dislikes the liver taste, enjoyed it. The focus here is on the rich, smooth flavor of the foie gras. The accompanying vegetables are seasoned with lemon juice, making it a super refreshing and appetizing first course. The crispy topping with hazelnuts adds a perfect layer of texture! 😋 🍳 Perfect Egg: This dish sounds simple but is incredibly satisfying. The egg is cooked to perfection—just enough to have a slightly runny yet firm yolk. It's surrounded by a generous amount of truffle and mushrooms. The aroma and flavor are truly mouthwatering! 🥚 🥩 Venison: The venison at JJ Beaumarchais is almost fully cooked, which might not be everyone's preference for tenderness. However, the seasoning is the best I've ever had for venison. Besides the traditional French sauce, the chef adds a Japanese sauce (I'm guessing it's either soy sauce with a touch of miso). This combination eliminates the slightly bitter aftertaste of the traditional sauce, making it super enjoyable. 🍖 🐚 Coconut Curry Seafood: This was the only dish that didn't quite live up to my expectations. While the ingredients were abundant and the textures of the scallops and fish roe were great, the curry flavor overpowered the natural taste of the seafood. I've had this type of dish at many places, and I would have preferred if the chef had used traditional French seasoning or a different seafood base to highlight the sweetness of the seafood and the richness of the sauce. 🦪 💶 Price Range: 40-70 euros It's conveniently located right across from Merci in the Marais district! #ParisianEats #ParisianFood #ParisianFoodie #ParisianFrenchCuisine #ParisianMichelin #BistroWineBar #HighlyRatedRestaurant
