Paris MAM 🎨✨ I feel it's a seriously underrated museum!
Paris has so many museums 🖼️—besides the Louvre, Orsay, Pompidou, Picasso, and Rodin, if you have the time, you should set aside a half day to visit MAM. It's right next to the Palais de Tokyo and just across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower! 🗼💖 MAM stands for Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. I first learned about it through a documentary called The Spider-Man of Paris, which tells the story of a Parisian thief who stole a painting from this museum. This guy was quite a character! 😱💪 He was so skilled that he practically walked away with the painting without any security to stop him—he even carried the painting right to his car! 🎨🚗 Back to MAM: the Paris city government always wanted to move some pieces from the Petit Palais to create a museum dedicated to studying 20th-century art. In 1961, the Musée d'Art Moderne officially opened to the public in the east wing of the Palais de Tokyo. 🎉🏛️ The museum now boasts an impressive collection of 15,000 artworks, showcasing major art trends from the early 20th century to the present day, including countless masterpieces by artists like Picasso, Dufy, Modigliani, Derain, Picabia, and Chagall. 🖌️🌟 Inside, you can find the original two versions of La Danse by Henri Matisse and Raoul Dufy's iconic mural, La Fée Électricité, which you can spot as soon as you enter! 🖼️✨ Oh, and the museum's regular exhibitions are free of charge, no reservations needed—it's a perfect example of a place with beautiful scenery and fewer crowds! 🌅🤗 #FFclubFlowerWildClub #Paris #ParisLife #ParisMuseum #Museum #MustVisitMuseum #CulturalAttractionShare #ParisModernArtMuseum
