Paris Saint Sulpice Light Show: A Must-Visit Experience ๐ ๐ฐ
Last Friday night, I attended the light show at the Saint Sulpice Church in Paris and wanted to share my experience, not necessarily to encourage everyone to go. ๐In recent years, church light shows have become increasingly popular, such as the free light performances at Notre Dame before the fire and the show at Saint Eustache Church. The Saint Sulpice light show seemed spectacular, but the actual light show only lasted for about 3 to 5 minutes, with the rest of the time mainly focused on performances, using lights as a backdrop to create an immersive experience. ๐My impression was that "this is a performance of a missionary nature" because the show involved many themes about "life given by the heavens," emphasizing the positive images of kings and queens while attributing the suffering of the people to the middle-level "demons." Although the actors performed with great effort and the volunteers' smiles were warm, my personal experience was average, even yawning at one point (which might also be because the 9 pm show was a bit late). The short duration of the light show within the 90-minute performance left me somewhat disappointed; it felt more like a play with lights only superficially accompanying it. ๐If you, like me, are going for the light show, I suggest adjusting your expectations and choosing to sit at the back or buy group tickets. If you want to see the performance up close, you can opt for front-row seats, but you'll need to look up at the lights, which is not very friendly to the neck. Friends interested in the history and culture of the church will still find it worth a visit. I hope this sharing is helpful to you! #ChurchLightShow #LightShow #Paris
