We are a Sino-French association with over 3,000 members, and we regularly organize cultural exchange events in the Paris area. 🇨🇵 On February 2nd, we organized a unique cultural tour to the famous Musée des Arts et Métiers (Museum of Arts and Crafts). Led by an experienced French professor, we traveled through time, exploring centuries of technological inventions and marveling at the fusion of science and art. 🔢 Ancient Chinese Abacus – A Legend of Computing In the Mathematics & Computing section, we were thrilled to discover the Chinese abacus (Le boulier chinois)—one of the world’s earliest calculating tools! 🧮 Its simple yet ingenious design: upper beads = 5, lower beads = 1—just slide them to perform rapid calculations! Compared to modern calculators, the abacus is not just a historical artifact but a testament to Eastern mathematical wisdom! 🦁🐍 The Thrilling "Lion vs. Serpent" Specimen In the Natural Sciences & Mechanics section, we encountered a dramatic taxidermy piece—a lion and a giant python locked in a life-or-death battle! 😱 A masterpiece of 19th-century taxidermy, showcasing artistic skill and scientific precision. Who would win?
