Pittsburgh's Cheese-Pulling Pizza: Iron Born Pizza & Pasta
⭐️Last time I was in the Strip District, I saw a long line at this pizza place and heard from friends that it's always popular. As someone who loves to join in on the hype, I had to come and check it out. ⭐️They specialize in Detroit-style pizza, which is similar to Chicago deep-dish pizza, but with a crust that's baked to a golden, crispy perfection. The most famous varieties here are the spicy pie, red pie, and forager pie, essentially the difference between a red sauce base and a white sauce base. ⭐️After trying them, we all agreed that the red base was tastier. The mushrooms on the forager pie were also fragrant, but we felt the seasoning was a bit lacking; a bit more honey would have made it even better. The bread was thick and soft, with the edges baked to perfection, and the cheese pulled into long, beautiful strings. It's a thick-crust pizza that hits the spot. ⭐️Overall, I would recommend it, especially for those who love cheese and thick-crust pizza.
