Pittsburgh 3-Day Family Trip Guide (Part 2) Food & Stay
In the previous part, I shared the itinerary for a three-day trip to Pittsburgh. Now, let’s talk about food and accommodation! 🏠 Accommodation: Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown 🔎 600 Commonwealth Pl, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 Although it has a 3.7 rating on Google, we really loved staying here!! First, the facilities and interior are indeed around 3.7 stars, but the overall experience was great. Key point! Book a river view room—the view is absolutely fantastic 🌃🌉, easily a 4/5! You can see the Duquesne Incline, sports fields, the confluence of two rivers, and the fountain. Beautiful both day and night! Another highlight! For those traveling with parents and kids, the hotel can arrange two connecting rooms with an internal door that can be unlocked. The little one was happy, and it was super convenient for us too 👍 Final highlight! The location is unbeatable! The hotel faces Point State Park—perfect for strolls, relaxing, and watching the sunset at the tip of the point while listening to the fountain 🥰 Overall, I’d rate my experience a 4 to 4.5/5. Highly recommended! 🍜 Food Recommendations: 1️⃣ Soluna Coffee & Mezcal (Breakfast) 🔍 1601 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 Highly recommended! Especially the waffle flight and oat milk latte—so good 😘 2️⃣ OTARU Japanese Restaurant Pittsburgh 🔎 1200 Grandview Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15211 A Japanese restaurant on the hill with great views while you dine. The food is delicious, the sashimi is fresh. A bit pricey—make sure to book in advance! 3️⃣ Nak Won Garden 🔍 5504 Centre Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232 Korean cuisine—we ordered cold noodles, army stew, bibimbap, and the chef’s recommended pork hock. Tasty! 4️⃣ Yotea & Yoka Kitchen 🔎 4615 Centre Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 A must-try!! We had the lamb spine hotpot—super delicious! 🍍 Pineapple fried rice—also amazing! 🍆 Green pepper with eggplant was great, and the coconut pudding was mind-blowing!! So many good dishes 👍 but too full to try them all 😂 We even went back before driving home to takeaway some food and drinks: super fruit tea, osmanthus rice wine drink, bubble milk tea, scallion pancake, egg tarts, and two coconut puddings 😋 Everything was excellent! ➕ One more food tip: The café at Fallingwater also serves really good food! If you’re planning to visit, consider having a meal there too 🤭 #WeekendGetaway #FamilyTravel #USATravel
