Pittsburgh Food Adventure 🏮

Everything was frustrating except the food itself. This is a well-known Japanese izakaya. It was my first time dining in since the pandemic. The dishes we ordered tasted the same as before, but the overall experience was still a letdown. The water cups were disposable plastic ones (at first I thought all cups were plastic, but then I saw the next table had glass cups—major downgrade 👎) Small plates, okonomiyaki, and desserts were served on disposable paper plates (why?? I don’t get it. Other dishes used normal plates.) The menu was severely reduced. They used to have grilled skewers, but now they’re gone 😔 The dining area also shrank a lot, with annoying transparent plastic dividers everywhere. Anyways, here’s the good part: The okonomiyaki was delicious! Super saucy and creamy in every bite 😋 We added corn—sweet and yummy—and the cabbage was soft and sweet too~ The hamburger steak looked small but was actually hearty. The bottom was slightly charred, and the meat flavor was rich. The side sauce was also tasty. Grilled mackerel—if you like mackerel, go for it! I thought it was pretty good 🐟 For small plates, we ordered spicy lotus root and burdock root with carrots. They were okay for munching, but again—the tableware was a letdown. So annoying 😤 Well, this is a half-hearted food review because the experience wasn’t the happiest. But shoutout to my friend for taking these photos—I love them! At least that made the trip worth it 😊 🏮 Teppanyaki Kyoto 📍 5808 Bryant St Floor 1 🅿️ Easy street parking. The area is nice for a walk around sunset~ #PittsburghFood #PittsburghEats #Pittsburgh#PittsburghJapanese #PittsburghDiningGuide 🍱🍙🍶
