Pittsburgh Food Find š„ A Cozy & Refined American Gem š
Once again, I fell for their winter menu⦠Itās been a year since my last visit, and Iām still amazed! BTW they call themselves āAmerican,ā but Iād say itās more like Euro-American fusion. ⨠Octopus A must-order for octopus lovers! Portion isnāt huge, but the flavor is incredible. Tender inside, slightly chewy outsideļ½ Served over a dual-layer sauce: potato and mildly spicy chili. Finished with crisp green apple slices š The combination is complex yet refreshingāhighly recommend! ⨠Burrata Who can resist this creamy, dreamy cheese? So fresh and smooth š§ Comes with two styles of beet: pickled (tangy and thin-sliced) and roasted (sweet and tender). If you like beets, youāll love this. If not⦠still worth a try! (I donāt usually order beets, but when theyāre done this wellāyes!) Also includes grapefruit segments for a bright, citrusy touch. ⨠Monkfish Stew A rich and aromatic seafood stew! The broth is everything š² Features monkfish, scallops, and clamsāall perfectly cooked. Even the greens (two little gems) were surprisingly flavorful. The broth has coconut milk, lemongrass, and maybe tomato? (Not sure why itās orange⦠but who cares when itās this delicious!) ⨠Pappardelle Wide Italian pastaļ½ We got the half portion, but it was still huge and super filling š Tossed with roasted Brussels sprouts and squashāso fragrant! The sauce has a balsamic touch and a hint of chili⦠Kinda gave me ādry pot cabbageā vibes (in a good way š). Sounds unusual, but tastes amazing! Carbs = comfort, always ā¤ļø (We were too full for dessert š„²) Attached their current winter menu āļø They change dishes seasonally, so the menu is small but intentional. The chef really knows how to balance flavors and texturesāwhether you prefer sweet or spicy, seafood or meat, carbs or protein, light or bold⦠thereās something for everyone. We both left super happy and satisfied! Heads up: Dinner only! Highly recommend booking ahead. We reserved late and got outdoor seating, but it was warmly heatedāno worries! šŗšø Fig & Ash š 514 E Ohio St š æļø Street parking is easy and convenient Hope this helpsļ½ Like and save if you enjoyed! #PittsburghFood #PittsburghEats #PittsburghLife#ThingsToDoInPittsburgh #PittsburghDining #Pittsburgh#WeekendVibes #FoodExploration
