Pittsburgh Half-Day Trip 🚗🌆

Drove up to West End Overlook with GPS guidance — there’s a parking lot there. After parking, it’s just a short walk to one of the best panoramic viewpoints over Pittsburgh! 🏙️ Headed downhill and parked at Parking Lot 1 near the Duquesne Incline along the railroad tracks — $8 for 1-2 hours 🅿️. From there, you can walk across the Fort Pitt Bridge on foot. If you prefer a shorter walk, there’s Parking Lot 2 under the bridge — slightly pricier at $5 per hour. After crossing the bridge: 👉 To the right is Pittsburgh Downtown. We visited on a Friday and stumbled upon the 2025 Soul Food Festival! 🎉 The streets were lined with food stalls — it’s going to be even livelier on Labor Day weekend! 👉 To the left is the Point State Park, where the Monongahela River and the Allegheny River meet to form the Ohio River 🌊 — which eventually flows into the Mississippi River in Illinois. Fun fact: Did you know the Ohio River is about 981 miles long?
