Pittsburgh Incline Guide | Which One to Choose? 🚠
A must-do in Pittsburgh is riding one of the historic inclines up the mountain—perfect for couples, friends, and families! There are two inclines: Duquesne Incline and Monongahela Incline. How to choose? This guide focuses on the Duquesne Incline. Stay tuned for the next post comparing both! ✨ Scenic Overlooks 🌃 Pittsburgh’s night view is ranked among the top 10 in the US. Here are three overlooks you can’t miss: 1. Observation Deck Located immediately to the right after exiting the station. 📍 1220 Grandview Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 2. The Grandview Overlook Turn left after exiting and walk about 12 minutes (some uphill/downhill). You’ll pass fancy restaurants and beautiful homes before reaching this spot. 📍 136-160 Grandview Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 3. Point of View Park Just a 1-minute walk to the right from the station. 📍 1435 Grandview Ave, Pittsburgh, PA ✨ Hidden Mini Museum 🏛️ Before leaving the station, head to the right side and look for the ➡️ "Museum" sign. The door may look closed and the space small and uninviting—but don’t skip it! Open the door, go through a second door, then follow the red arrow down the stairs. You’ll reach the machinery room where you can see how the incline operates. The mini-museum also displays historical photos and texts about the incline. 📌 Duquesne Incline Details 🕰️ Opening Hours: Open 365 days a year, 6:30 AM – 12:30 AM 💰 Fare: ‼️ CASH ONLY (bills or coins) ‼️ ❌ No debit/credit cards accepted Adults & 12+: $5 round-trip Ages 6–11: $2.50 round-trip Under 5: Free Students from #UniversityofPittsburgh, #CMU, #Chatham: Free with student ID 📍 1197 West Carson St, Pittsburgh, PA 🅿️ Parking: Across the street near the river, $8 for 2 hours #WeekendGetaway #PittsburghTravel #CityWalk #TravelPhotos #HiddenGems #PittsburghIncline #InclineGuide #TravelTips #USATravel
