Pittsburgh Italian Bistro: Bar Marco

⭐️This time, we chose Bar Marco in the Strip District to bid farewell to a friend. We made a reservation for a weekday evening and got a table without any issues. There are many street parking spots nearby, and it wasn't too crowded when we dined. ⭐️The restaurant offers a $45 two-course menu, with no need for tips, and you can add an appetizer like cheese or ham for an extra charge. The ambiance is great and the vibe is quite relaxed, making it feel suitable for girls' night out or dating. However, I tried a total of four dishes, most of which were visually appealing but not so satisfying in taste 😅. ⭐️Veal & Tuna - This dish was actually okay, with smoked beef paired with tuna sauce on breadsticks, which went well with drinks. But overall, it didn't have that wow factor, just like a ham with tuna salad taste. ⭐️Cantaloupe & Tuna - Melon with tuna (again), lacked a bit of freshness and crispness. The sauce had mint which lifted the flavor, but I personally didn't like the raw sweet pepper, as its taste was too overpowering. ⭐️Grilled Octopus Legs - This dish is worth a mention 😅. The octopus legs were grilled to a good degree, but they were marinated so salty, so salty, so salty. The accompanying sauce tasted like doubanjiang (broad bean chili paste) stir-fried with potatoes and green peppers, a very fusion flavor, and also quite salty. The only non-salty part was the sweet corn purée. This is a dish that requires a bottle of water after finishing 🫡. #Pittsburgh #PittsburghDiningGuide #PittsburghFood #PittsburghExploreEats #PittsburghItalianRestaurant
