Pittsburgh Travel Guide 1.0 | Super Detailed
Due to word limit, this guide is divided into four parts. Taking advantage of the Thanksgiving holiday and Black Friday shopping in Pennsylvania, I finally made a trip to Pittsburgh. Since Pennsylvania is tax-free, I often come here for Black Friday, but usually just pass through Pittsburgh—never really had the chance to explore the city properly. Honestly, Pittsburgh is well worth a thorough visit. That said, try not to go in winter like we did—it’s super cold and windy. If you do visit in winter, bundle up! A down jacket is highly recommended. 💡 Parking: Street parking near attractions in downtown Pittsburgh is quite convenient and much cheaper than parking garages. Hotel parking typically costs around $38 per day. If you prefer not to park at the hotel, you can use a parking app to find more affordable options nearby. 💡 Accommodation: Hotels in Pittsburgh are relatively affordable. It’s best to stay near downtown for easy access to attractions. We stayed at a Marriott-affiliated hotel. The average rate is around $150–200 per night, which is considerably cheaper than in many other cities—maybe also because it’s off-season. 💡 Food: Pittsburgh’s Chinese food scene is pretty good—portions are generous, and prices are reasonable. We ordered four dishes, including a grilled fish, for just over $90 (before tip). Highly recommend Sichuan Gourmet —their grilled fish is flavorful and delicious. The chef’s special wings (pictured in Figure 10) were also great, though I forgot the exact name.
