Pokhara, Nepal 🇳🇵 | Local Dishes That Saved My Chinese Stomach
All the restaurants below are in Pokhara, and some are new finds! Rebecca Khaja Ghar Their fried dumplings are like shengjianbao (pan-fried buns)—juicy when you bite into them! They’re not as big or as soupy as Xiao Yang Sheng Jian, but they’re already delicious 😋 The price is super affordable too. Other bloggers say their set meals are good too—I’ll have to try those next time! Lhasa Tibetan Restaurant The beef noodles here are amazing! The chili sauce is that classic Chinese-style fried chili oil 🌶️, and their mashed potato sauce is pretty good too. I also ordered a big momo (forgot to take a photo)—small momos are like dumplings, while big momos are more like buns, and they’re so tasty 😋 The beef noodles were around 170 NPR (super cheap), and a big momo is 40 NPR. Himalayan Dorjee Restaurant Another Tibetan restaurant, just as good—highly recommend! I tried the beef noodle slices, which were flavorful, and the chili oil here is also very Chinese-style 👍. Price: 220 NPR. Laxmi Khaja & Chat House A newly opened spot—I gave it a try and was surprised by the fried noodles! They’re hearty, great value, and tasty, with a local-style sauce 🍜. Price: 150 NPR. I didn’t list the ones that weren’t good—you’ll have to explore those on your own!
