Puerto Rico San Juan Old Town | The Castle Guards Secrets of Love

🌟In Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, you must visit the ancient fortress at the end of the old town. This castle was built during the Spanish colonial period to protect the San Juan harbor and served as a vital military outpost for the entire Caribbean region. 🌟Located outside the castle, there’s no need to buy a ticket. When the weather is clear, you can see the distant coastline beyond the walls. I recommend going at sunset for photos, as the light is much softer. 🌟I came back here especially with my little dog; she absolutely loves the big lawn outside. Puerto Rico, as a whole, is very dog-friendly. 🌟The castle is filled with fortifications, facing the sea. The castle closes at 5 pm, and it has three levels. The two lower levels close at 4:30 pm, so if you want to explore the inside of the castle in detail, you’ll need to keep an eye on the time. 💴 The entrance fee is $10 per person, and you can buy tickets on the spot or use the American National Parks Annual Pass. Each ticket is valid for 24 hours. You can also visit the smaller castle on the other side of the old town. After visiting the castle, you can walk all the way to the old town, where there are many colorful houses that remind you of a small Mexican town. There are also some local shops and performances. I coincidentally met a fellow Shiba Inu 🐕 owner who had quit his job at Facebook to become a landlord on the island, owning 30 properties. I was left in tears of envy 😭 I recommend a light fare shop 📍Stuffed Avocado Shop, which is perfect for taking a break from fried foods. #WinterTravelCollection #WinterByTheSeaAt20Degrees #PuertoRico #PuertoRicoTravel #PuertoRicoGuide #OldSanJuanPuertoRico #PuertoRicoTourism
