Quince’s Michelin-Star Chef Treats Us to a Special Meal 🌟

Our first proper meal of 2025 was at Quince, a renowned Italian restaurant. Describing it as just “delicious” wouldn’t do it justice. The service and overall experience at Quince are top-notch among all the three-Michelin-starred restaurants we’ve visited. Since it’s winter, the entire menu revolves around black and white truffles. For instance, the oyster appetizer was garnished with a generous slice of black truffle. While chatting with the waiter, we mentioned that we like to collect little restaurant mementos (like the quail’s feet from Birdsong). They took the oyster shells we had eaten, cleaned them thoroughly, and placed them on our table for the entire dinner—such a thoughtful touch! 🥣 When it came to choosing wine, we were quite unsure and hesitant. The sommelier noticed and kindly assured us that if we didn’t like the wine, they would keep changing it until we found the perfect match for our meal. 🥂 What left the most lasting impression was the potato truffle Rotolo pasta! It was as stunning as Don Angie’s lasagna. We enjoyed it so much that we joked about wanting another serving. Guess what?! When the next dish was served, the chef himself brought an extra portion of the pasta to our table, explaining that it was his latest creation and thanking us for our appreciation. It was such a delightful surprise! The waitstaff paid attention to every little detail, and the chef responded to each guest’s preferences. We’ve only seen this level of hospitality at The Bear! 👏 It could be written up as a prime example in *Unreasonable Hospitality*. Our dinner concluded with white truffle gelato and endless dessert refills. As we left, we were given a cup of hot cocoa and ginger tea, extending the warmth on a cold San Francisco night. Holding our hot drinks, we unanimously decided to visit their sister restaurant, Cotogna, next month. 🥤 🐷🐗❤️ #ItalianCuisine #SanFranciscoFood #MichelinThreeStars #BayAreaFood #BayAreaRestaurantRecommendations
