Ramen DANBO Park Slope

I really don’t like Danbo’s noodles; they’re a bit too crispy for my taste. 🍜 On one of those gloomy, rainy days when all you want is a warm bowl of ramen to cozy up with, I decided to search for a highly-rated spot. I found Danbo, which seemed perfect. But as I sat there, reading the menu with Chinese characters that looked so familiar, it suddenly hit me—I had tried this place in Vancouver and it was a total letdown! I couldn’t run away this time. 🥹 Their noodles have this unique crispy texture, which is definitely not the soft, slurpy kind I usually crave. And seriously, who likes putting pickled mustard greens in their ramen? It just felt out of place! 🥒 To be fair, when it comes to noodles and broth, I definitely prefer Ichiran. Their ramen is just so comforting and perfect for a rainy day. But #ramen, the char siu at Danbo is surprisingly better than Ichiran’s. It’s tender and flavorful, almost making up for the noodle situation. 🍖 Overall, it was an interesting experience. While I didn’t love the noodles, the char siu was a nice surprise. Maybe next time I’ll give their broth a chance and see if it can win me over. #NYCFood #FoodieDiary 🍽️
