Real Post-Dinner Thoughts on Restaurant Yuu 🌟
📍 Restaurant Yuu Two weeks ago, I finally went to the much-talked-about Restaurant Yuu with a friend. I had seen so many mixed reviews online that I kept putting off the visit 😂. 🍽️ The reservation was surprisingly easy to get… My friend and I originally planned to go somewhere else, but after checking around, only Yuu had availability. Maybe it’s because it’s still a relatively new place? Since so many people have already reviewed the food, I just want to share my personal impressions: 🍽️ 1⃣️ It’s one of the few fine dining places I’ve been to recently where I felt they truly put effort into the main courses. It seems like many restaurants these days focus more on appetizers, while the main dishes are just a pile-up of ingredients… But Yuu felt like they genuinely cared about crafting their main courses. The duck pie was so delicious, even though I was almost too full to finish it! 🍗 2⃣️ The rest of the dishes were pretty average 🤔. Maybe because I’ve been to too many fine dining places and can guess the routine. It usually starts with small dishes featuring uni or oysters, then there’s inevitably a crudo (raw fish and shellfish) dish, and of course, there’s always one where they pour soup right in front of you 😂. 🍽️ I have a pretty light palate, so the King Crab and 🦞 salad were more to my liking. The salad looked like something you’d grab from a cafeteria at first glance, but it had some offal bits that added a nice surprise! #NewYork 🗽
