📍 Red7 | Lafayette’s Must-Try American Restaurant 🍽️ If you haven’t tried Red7 in downtown Lafayette yet, you’re missing out! I finally got the chance to introduce my parents to this gem during their visit to Purdue, and it did not disappoint. Located near the historic train station, Red7 offers a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere with rustic-industrial decor. It gets packed during weekends and dinner hours, so I highly recommend making a reservation via Google Maps ahead of time. Fair warning: parking can be tricky—we ended up using the nearby parking garage after circling the block a few times. 🍹 Cocktails Their cocktail menu is fantastic—almost impossible to go wrong! Must-tries include: • Flying Dragon • Cool as Cucumber • Kiwi Peach Mule • Flirtini • Sangria (also a solid choice!) 🥗 Appetizers • Bacon Wrapped Shrimp: Absolutely delicious—juicy shrimp wrapped in crispy bacon, perfectly grilled and served with a savory sauce. Highly recommend! • Lemon Pepper Calamari: Lightly fried, tender calamari rings. Squeeze some lemon on top and pair with their tomato-basil dipping sauce. Perfect with drinks! 🍖 Main Courses • The Pork Chop: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is the star of the menu! If you don’t try this, I’ll be heartbroken. The pork chop is grilled to perfection—juicy on the inside with a flavorful sear on the outside. Served with apple compote that cuts through the richness effortlessly. The portion is huge, so sharing is totally acceptable. • Shrimp Risotto: One of the best risottos in town! Not overly cheesy, making it a great option for those who prefer lighter, Asian-friendly flavors. The shrimp is cooked just right, and the overall dish is creamy and satisfying. • Almond Parmesan Crusted Chicken: A recommended dish, but not my personal favorite. The chicken is tender and the almond-parmesan crust is crispy, but it doesn’t stand out compared to the pork chop or risotto. Might appeal more to local tastes. 🍝 Other Standouts • Spicy Shrimp + Feta Linguine: A flavorful pasta dish with a nice kick! • Truffle Lobster Mac & Cheese: If you enjoy rich, cheesy dishes, this is a must-try. • Avoid the Steaks: We tried the Thick Cut Ribeye (21-day dry-aged), and it was underwhelming—overpriced at $45 and poorly executed in terms of doneness and flavor. 🥖 Side Notes • The bread is just okay—nothing special. • Salads are fresh, and the mango-pineapple dressing is a fun tropical twist! 📌 Final Thoughts Red7 is a solid Bryant alternative that I revisit every now and then. If you order based on this guide, you won’t be disappointed! Perfect for dates, family dinners, or whenever you’re craving well-executed American comfort food with a modern twist. 🍷 vibe: Casual yet polished—great for gatherings! #Red7Lafayette #PurdueEats #LafayetteFoodie #AmericanCuisine #FoodReview #MustTry #ComfortFood
