Reliving High School Memories with Paper-Wrapped Fish! 🐟✨
A friend living in NJ sent me photos of Yuan (Little Garden) a while ago, and I was instantly intrigued. Finally made it over to try it myself! 🍴 Yuan (Little Garden) 📍 537 Washington Blvd, NJ 🐟 Paper-Wrapped Fish (Pickled Pepper Flavor) Seeing this on the menu brought back so many memories—this was a dish I loved in high school! The fish was incredibly tender, flavorful without being overly spicy, and packed that nostalgic, savory punch. Felt just like those fun, shared meals with friends back in the day. 🥒 Stir-Fried Luffa Luffa is rare to find in the U.S., so I had to order it! Light, refreshing, and naturally sweet, it paired perfectly with steamed rice—fresh, clean, and totally satisfying. 🦐 Crab Roe & Salted Egg Tofu with Shrimp A total rice killer! The combination of salted egg yolk and crab roe was rich and savory. The shrimp were plump and fresh, the tofu silky and soft. Couldn’t stop spooning it over rice—so addictive! 😋 🌶 Double Pepper Beef Tendon Tender, gelatinous beef tendon braised until melt-in-your-mouth soft. The spicy pepper seasoning was bold but balanced—another great dish to enjoy with rice. 🍬 Brown Sugar Glutinous Rice Cakes A sweet finish! Chewy, sticky, and made with real glutinous rice—not just rice flour. The brown sugar syrup was lightly sweet, not cloying—a lovely way to end the meal. Overall, Yuan delivered some solid Sichuan hits! The paper-wrapped fish and crab roe tofu were standout dishes that brought back that authentic, homestyle satisfaction. Definitely a spot worth revisiting for anyone craving real-deal Sichuan flavors! #FoodieLife #NYCFood #NewJersey #NJFood #SichuanCuisine #NYCSichuanFood #NJRestaurants #NYCExploration #NJEats #ChineseFood #SichuanEats #NYCEats #ComfortFood #ChineseCuisine #SpicyFoodLover
