Restaurant Review: Salm Bräu – Authentic Austrian Cuisine in Vienna
📍 Address: Rennweg 8, Vienna Ambience The waitstaff dress in traditional attire, and we were seated in the underground cellar area—decorated with vintage brewery tiles and the restaurant’s emblem. Though our table wasn’t reserved (the only one left!), the cozy, rustic vibe was perfect. No phone signal, but WiFi available! Drinks 🍹 Herbs Limonade – Refreshing and pairs well with meat dishes. 🍺 Award-Winning Beer Combo – Helles + Limonade (in Germany, it’s usually mixed with Sprite, but this was even better!). Mains (For 5 people, we ordered the 4-person platter + a "Grandma’s Recipe" dish): 1️⃣ Honey-Glazed Pork Ribs – Sweet and juicy, served with wedge fries and three sauces. 2️⃣ Crispy Pork Knuckle (Stelzen) – Outer skin = perfectly crispy, fat rendered beautifully. The meat was tender, though some parts leaned dry. (Is this Bavarian or Austrian? Who cares—it’s delicious!) 3️⃣ Jäger Pfandl (Grandma’s Recipe) – Wild boar stewed in red wine + mushrooms, spiced with orange peel, nutmeg, and cloves. Served with herb-infused Spätzle and topped with sour cream + gooseberry jam—uniquely flavorful! 💡 Note: The 4-person platter was huge—could’ve fed 5! We took leftovers home. Extras The hallway to the restroom displays their brewery awards and history—worth a peek! After eating, stroll to Schloss Belvedere (Belvedere Palace) and its gardens—a perfect digestif! #AustrianFood #ViennaEats #MustTryInVienna
