Rocky Mountains 🏔️ — Truly a Must-See in Denver!
❄️ My first hike in the Rocky Mountains at the end of October greeted me with the first snow of the season! Experiencing the sudden temperature drop from above to below freezing was surreal — it felt like winter arrived in just one glance. The snowy landscapes were absolutely spectacular! Highly recommend a trip to the Rockies. Here’s your guide: 1️⃣ Rocky Mountain Travel Tips 2️⃣ Charming Towns at the Foot of the Mountains 1️⃣ Rocky Mountain National Park ⛰️ The Rockies are often called the "Backbone of North America," stretching across the U.S. and Canada. Spanning about 4,800 km with over 100 mountain ranges, the average elevation exceeds 2,000 meters. The highest peak, Mount Elbert, is located in Colorado, standing tall at 4,401 meters. 🌐 Before You Go: Check the official website . While the park is open year-round, some areas may close temporarily, and reservations might be required during peak seasons. 🎫 Ticket Info: The website lists pass options — individual entry, vehicle entry, or a 7-day pass. Unsure which to choose? You can also decide at the entrance (both cash and card accepted). We went on a Monday in late October and got in for FREE! 🆓 🗺️ Route Suggestions: From Denver, it’s about a 2-hour drive to the classic Glacier Gorge Trailhead. Park your car and start hiking — you’ll pass stunning spots like Bear Lake and Alberta Falls . Allow around 2-2.5 hours to complete this route with photos and breaks. You’ll meet plenty of fellow hikers, so no worries about getting lost! Trail signs are clear, but phone service? Basically nonexistent 😂. 🎒 What to Bring: Temperatures in the mountains are no joke! In late October, it was around 5°C but felt like 0°C or below. Don’t forget: Gloves 🧤 Windproof jacket (snow melts, and wet clothes are no fun!) Scarf 🧣 Warm layers & insulated shoes Beanie 🧢 Hiking poles (if you have them!) 2️⃣ Charming Mountain Town 🍛 Food & Vibe: After hiking, refuel at Himalayan Curry & Kebob — a beloved local Indian restaurant that’s been around for years. So delicious! 😋 The town is also perfect for a relaxing stroll. Right outside the restaurant, you’ll find the main street lined with cute shops — perfect for picking up souvenirs or simply enjoying the small-town atmosphere. #DenverTravel #RockyMountains #USATravel #HikingParadise #WinterHiking #HealedByTheMountains #WinterGetaway
