๐ Rotterdam | Exploring a City of Unique Architectures in 0.5 Days ๐ง
Set off from Amsterdam in the morning for a day trip to Rotterdam + The Hague ใ ค ๐ Transportation Traveling from Amsterdam to Rotterdam is very convenient, taking less than 90 minutes in total. Our hotel in Amsterdam ๐จ is near Rai, so we need to take the metro ๐ to Amsterdam Zuid, then board the ๐ Intercity directly to Rotterdam Blaak. Another route is to take the ๐ from Rai to Schiphol Airport, transfer to ๐ to Rotterdam Central, and then transfer at the same station to Blaak. Starting from Amsterdam Centraal, you can directly take the ๐ Intercity to Blaak. You can check Google Maps in real-time for more convenient and faster routes. ๐ Rotterdam Blaak The main attractions/architectures of Rotterdam are concentrated around Blaak train station. Once you get off the train, you can directly start exploring ๐ ใ ค ๐ธ Cube Houses Kijk-Kubus A row of yellow cubic houses that are tilted and connected to each other, with a very special architectural structure. Taking a photo from below upwards, the bright yellow houses ๐ก contrast perfectly with the azure sky ๐ต. Although most of the Cube Houses are residential, there are some open for visitors. There are staff nearby to guide you to buy tickets for the tour. ใ ค ๐น Pencil Tower A tall building near the Cube Houses, shaped like a pencil โ๏ธ, visible directly around the Blaak square. ใ ค ๐ธ Markthal The world-famous "Market Hall," with an arched exterior. Inside, there are various food stalls and food for sale, such as cheese ๐ง๏ธ, taco ๐ฎ๏ธ, and sushi ๐ฃ. The market is quite large and can be explored for a long time. The special feature of the market is the art painting "The Horn of Plenty" ๐งโ๐จ that extends from the arched ceiling to both walls, as if the entire market is covered with colorful giant flowers ๐ and fruits and vegetables ๐๐ฅฌ, which is very impressive. For meals, you can find a snack stall in the market for lunch (some stores require queuing, but the turnover is quite fast ๐๐ป) โ ๏ธ Note that the market opens at 12 PM on Sundays, so plan your time accordingly. ๐ฐ Cafรฉs ๐ต Matcha Next Door by Round&Round A matcha shop on Hoogstraat street near Blaak, rush to this place for their pure matcha and matcha ice cream ๐ฆ๐ ใ ค โ๏ธ nice A corner coffee shop on the same street as the ๐ต shop. The interior is mainly in shades of gray ๐ฉถ๐ค, with fluorescent color accents, super cool ๐, and many people who come in are also here to check in ๐ฅน. There are not many indoor seats, and if you happen to encounter good weather, you can sit outside on the sidewalk, basking in the sun ๐, drinking โ๏ธ and eating ๐ฅ, very comfortable ๐ #Rotterdam #TheHague #Netherlands #RotterdamExploration #Europe
