São Paulo | How to Experience Brazilian Culture in a Weekend

Attend a full Mass service at the Catedral da Sé (São Paulo Cathedral) and admire the architectural artistry of different churches (my goal is to visit churches everywhere!). 🍃Since the Picasso exhibition is over, appreciate Monet’s masterpieces instead. Buy a pair of Havaianas flip-flops, put on Batman Alley-inspired earrings, and head to Ibirapuera Park to watch Brazilian hotties jogging. Visit Avenida Paulista to witness lively street parades 🎵—the most vivid display of multiculturalism. Catch an intense Brazilian football match, where fans from rival teams exchange middle fingers 🖕. (The atmosphere is electric—everyone’s fully immersed, but I don’t recommend going alone. I was bold enough to negotiate with scalpers despite the language barrier, surrounded by tattooed fans. I just pretended to be a local and cheered along. And, of course, the highlight—feasting on authentic Brazilian churrasco (barbecue)! ⚠️ Safety note: São Paulo isn’t as dangerous as some say, but it’s not entirely safe either. Walking alone through a pitch-dark favela was nerve-wracking. #São Paulo#Brazil#Avenida Paulista #ibirapuera park#travel guide#Brazil Culture#foodball
