São Paulo Zoo - Zoológico de São Paulo

A zoo where you can experience the rainforest atmosphere without venturing into the jungle! Located next to the botanical garden, the zoo alone requires a full day to explore. 🍃It provides animals with habitats closely resembling their natural environments, while also offering family-friendly amenities such as free drinking water, strollers, children’s restrooms, picnic areas, and play lawns. 🥰With over 3,000 species of animals, mostly from South America, many of which I’d never seen before, it’s incredibly fascinating! The zoo staff are warm and friendly, clearly passionate about animal care, and patiently explain the animals’ behaviors to children. 🌟 Highlights: Jaguar Pavilion: Walk through a glass tunnel while jaguars roam overhead! Amazonian Aviary: Immerse yourself in a giant dome filled with free-flying tropical birds. Nocturnal House: Discover creatures of the night in reverse daylight habitats. Giant Otter Exhibit: Watch these playful predators swim and interact underwater. 🍴 Dining: The zoo's onsite restaurant serves Brazilian classics like pão de queijo (cheese bread) and açaí bowls, with shaded outdoor seating overlooking the primate exhibits. ⚠️ Pro Tip: Visit on weekdays to avoid crowds! The zoo offers discounted Friday afternoons (from 2 PM). Don’t miss the 3 PM feeding tour at the big cat enclosures. 📍 Getting There: Take the Metro Line 10 (Emerald) to Jardim São Paulo-Ayrton Senna station, then a 15-minute walk through the park grounds. Uber drops off directly at the entrance. #zoo#travel guide#SaoPauloZoo #BrazilTravel #AnimalLovers#trip diary#Brazil#animal#wildlife
