After wandering back from Fisherman’s Wharf, we strolled through North Beach (SF’s Little Italy) for dinner and stumbled upon this stunning church next to Washington Square. Stepping inside, we were instantly wrapped in a blanket of peace and serenity—no crowds, just soft light filtering through stained glass and the faint echo of quiet prayers. 🙏 🌟 Why It’s Special: Twin spires towering over the neighborhood, nicknamed "the Italian Cathedral of the West." A favorite of Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe (they took wedding photos here—though didn’t marry in the church!). The interior’s frescoes and marble altar feel like a slice of Rome. 📍 Visit: Free entry.
