San Francisco | Four Bakeries & CafΓ©s I Visited Last Week π₯β
Parachute Bakery The Ferry Building is a pretty inconvenient location for me, but I finally got a chance to visit π . It was a rainy Sunday afternoon, and they still had plenty of items left β I was pleasantly impressed! Of the three things I tried, my favorite was the $8 black sesame yuzu cookie πͺ. It was truly unique, with complex layers of flavor: earthy sesame, bittersweet yuzu, and a hint of sea salt β so good! The pecan was definitely the best part of the financier π§. The cake itself was nice, but I missed that crispy outer crust I usually love in traditional financiers. Honestly, cube croissants always let me downβ¦ but I keep ordering them anyway π. This twice-baked caramel hazelnut cube croissant though? Finally a winner π β packed with filling, yet still light and flaky! I didnβt try their drinks, but I noticed most people grabbing coffee from Blue Bottle next door instead β. Magic Donuts & Coffee I only come here a few times a year, but this time they had new flavors! π© The Hannukah one seemed kinda plain, and the Christmas one looked like a calorie bomb πβ¦ so I went with the old fashioned cocktail donut β turns out it was too sweet for my taste π₯². My favorite ended up being the simple yet perfect dark chocolate old fashioned β€οΈ. Cam Hung, Sunnyvale A takeout-only Vietnamese sandwich shop β cash only π΅ β but seriously great prices for banh mi and coffee in Sunnyvale! If you want something even better (though pricier), youβd have to head to San Jose π. Neighbor Bakehouse This might be my last visit this year, so I made sure to grab their two signature items: the βeverythingβ croissant and the pistachio blackberry twice-baked croissant π₯. Always a treat! #SanFrancisco #Coffee #BakeryFood #PastryLover #SFBrunch
